Underwriting and Pricing Governance Manager

3- 6 Month initial DRC - inside IR35

Location - UK / Remote working

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Underwriting & Pricing Governance Manager to join our financial services client on an initial short term contract (this may be extended or have the potential to become a longer term opportunity).

The main purpose of this role is to support during a particularly busy period and help lead the business through the new FCA Pricing and Value Measure rules will create additional work in the governance area.

Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting Governance oversight across the MGA segment
  • Product Governance including lifecycle reviews with value metrics, review tool ownership and pack development for committees
  • Development of the UW Governance Rulebook and update to align with latest Business Standards / Key Controls
  • Monitoring and supporting QA, UW, Licence Breaches and Insurer Audit activity across the MGA
  • Providing FCA Pricing review and value measures project support
  • Managing third party TOBA management and monitoring oversight
  • Supporting and monitoring a small / established team

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

The successful candidate will hold or be working towards an ACII qualification & have experience working in a similar role with an excellent understanding of underwriting pricing governance and sound technical understanding of both commercial and personal lines.

  • Proficient in Windows based applications, in particular Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Well experienced insurance industry professional.
  • Proven governance background and understanding of current regulatory environment
  • Experience managing and coaching a team would be beneficial
  • Effective presentation and report writing skills
  • Proven communication skills - excellent written & verbal communicator
  • Proactive approach - ability to work with little supervision
