  • Guide multidisciplinary teams delivering complex digital services and platforms.
  • Apply evidence-based prioritisation techniques to maximise value and minimise delivery risk.
  • Manage competing stakeholder priorities and proactively prevent scope creep.
  • Use user research, data and performance metrics to validate product decisions and inform trade-offs.
  • Build alignment across technical, operational, policy and senior stakeholder groups.
  • Establish clear product direction and remove ambiguity to enable confident delivery.
  • Communicate strategic concepts and complex delivery challenges in clear, accessible language.
  • Support governance activities and engagement with senior leadership.
  • Coach, mentor and develop junior product professionals and wider team members.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Significant Product Management experience within central government or similarly regulated environments.
  • Proven experience leading products through GDS Alpha and Beta delivery phases.
  • Experience modernising, transforming or replacing large-scale legacy platforms and services.
  • Strong strategic product leadership with experience defining multi-year roadmaps.
  • Demonstrable expertise in prioritisation, product discovery and outcome-focused delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and multidisciplinary delivery approaches.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across senior leadership, delivery teams and users.
  • Ability to make evidence-based decisions in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Experience translating technical and delivery concepts into language suitable for non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of coaching and mentoring others.

Desirable

  • Experience working within justice, rehabilitation, youth services or broader public sector domains.
  • Experience overseeing data-centric products and platforms.
  • Knowledge of GDS Service Standard assessments and government service delivery practices.
  • Experience leading teams through large-scale organisational and technology change.
