Software Developer

We are seeking an experienced Node.js Developer to join a growing technology team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable cloud-based applications. The successful candidate will have strong experience with Node.js, Microsoft Azure, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, and GitHub within modern DevOps and Agile delivery environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend applications using Node.js.
• Build and deploy scalable cloud-native solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• Develop and manage Azure Functions to support event-driven and serverless architectures.
• Design, optimise, and maintain data solutions using Azure Cosmos DB.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Implement best practices for code quality, testing, security, and performance optimisation.
• Manage source control, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring high levels of availability and reliability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience developing applications using Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Proven experience working with Azure Cosmos DB.
• Experience building and supporting Azure Functions.
• Strong knowledge of GitHub, version control, and collaborative development practices.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Understanding of security, scalability, and performance considerations in cloud environments.
• Experience working within Agile development teams.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring and logging solutions within Azure.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
