Senior Business Analyst (SC Cleared)

Contract Opportunity | Digital Healthcare Transformation

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst (SFIA Level 5) to join a major digital transformation programme focused on the development and continuous improvement of a high-profile, citizen-facing healthcare application.

Working within a multidisciplinary Agile delivery environment, you will play a key role in understanding complex business needs, shaping requirements and ensuring digital solutions deliver meaningful outcomes for users and operational stakeholders.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst who can operate at a senior level, influence stakeholders and translate business challenges into clear, actionable requirements that support successful digital delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business analysis activities across complex digital projects and product workstreams.

• Engage with senior stakeholders, product teams and operational users to understand business needs and objectives.

• Plan and facilitate workshops, interviews and requirements-gathering sessions.

• Elicit, analyse and document functional and non-functional requirements.

• Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria and clearly defined requirements.

• Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and service optimisation.

• Work closely with Product Managers, Delivery Managers, User Researchers, Service Designers and technical teams.

• Support backlog refinement, prioritisation and sprint planning within an Agile environment.

• Map customer journeys, business processes and service interactions.

• Identify dependencies, risks, assumptions and constraints affecting delivery.

• Ensure requirements are understood, traceable and aligned with programme objectives.

• Support solution design, testing, validation and implementation activities.

• Communicate complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience operating as a Senior Business Analyst at SFIA Level 5.

• Strong experience delivering business analysis within large-scale digital transformation programmes.

• Excellent requirements elicitation, analysis and management skills.

• Experience facilitating workshops and engaging with senior stakeholders.

• Strong business process modelling and mapping capabilities.

• Experience producing user stories, acceptance criteria and functional requirements.

• Practical experience working within Agile delivery teams.

• Ability to influence stakeholders and work across multidisciplinary teams.

• Experience supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of digital products or services.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working on public-sector or government digital services.

• Previous experience within healthcare or NHS-related digital environments.

• Experience delivering citizen-facing mobile applications or digital services.

• Understanding of user-centred design and Government Digital Service (GDS) principles.

• Experience working with complex integrations, APIs and technical delivery teams.

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and other Agile delivery tools.
