The Role

A growing cyber security consultancy is looking for an experienced Security Architect to join its expanding team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile defence-related programmes, helping organisations design, build, and deliver secure systems from concept through to production.

This is a remote-first position, with occasional travel to customer sites across the South of the UK

As a Security Architect, you will act as a technical lead across major programmes, working closely with solution architects, engineers and stakeholders to ensure security is embedded throughout the design and delivery lifecycle. You will provide expert guidance on secure-by-design principles, security architecture, information exchange, and operational delivery within complex environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading security architecture activities across complex client engagements.
  • Applying secure-by-design principles throughout solution development and delivery.
  • Supporting the transition of concepts, research initiatives and MVPs into production-ready solutions.
  • Providing technical leadership on large-scale programmes and bids.
  • Engaging with customers and stakeholders to understand business and security requirements.
  • Working alongside Solution Architects and engineering teams to deliver secure outcomes.
  • Contributing to security strategy, governance and architecture best practices.
  • Supporting defence and national security-focused projects.

Essential Experience

  • 5-10+ years’ experience in Security Architecture or related cyber security roles.
  • Strong understanding of security architecture frameworks and principles.
  • Experience applying Secure by Design (SbD) methodologies.
  • Background working within defence, government or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting programmes from design through to operational delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing consultancy skills.
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and provide technical leadership.
  • Eligibility to hold or maintain SC Clearance. Active SC clearance is highly desirable.

Desirable Experience

  • Consultancy or professional services experience.
  • Experience working on prime-led defence programmes.
  • Exposure to defence research, innovation, or product development environments.
  • Knowledge of information exchange and secure system integration.
