Scrum Master
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support Digital Engineering delivery teams within a complex, technology-focused environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating Agile delivery, supporting effective Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments and helping teams continuously improve their delivery practices. You will work closely with engineering teams and senior stakeholders, providing coaching and guidance to promote strong Agile ways of working and delivery discipline.
Experience working within a scaled Agile environment is important, with a strong understanding of PI Planning and the ability to operate confidently across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Scrum Master for one or more Digital Engineering delivery teams.
- Facilitate core Agile and Scrum ceremonies, including:
- Daily stand-ups
- Sprint Planning
- Sprint Reviews
- Retrospectives
- Backlog refinement
- Support teams in maintaining a clear focus on sprint goals, commitments and delivery outcomes.
- Identify, manage and remove impediments that could affect team progress.
- Coach teams, Product Owners and stakeholders in effective Agile and Scrum practices.
- Encourage continuous improvement through retrospectives, feedback and practical improvements to team processes.
- Support effective backlog management, prioritisation and refinement.
- Help teams understand and maintain appropriate delivery metrics and transparency.
- Work within a scaled Agile environment, supporting coordination and alignment across multiple teams.
- Facilitate and contribute to PI Planning, helping teams understand objectives, dependencies, priorities and delivery commitments.
- Identify cross-team dependencies, risks and blockers and ensure these are appropriately managed and communicated.
- Work closely with engineering leadership, Product Owners and other senior stakeholders to maintain alignment on delivery priorities.
- Challenge ineffective ways of working constructively and help teams develop greater delivery maturity.
- Support the adoption of consistent Agile delivery practices across the wider Digital Engineering function.
- Provide clear communication on delivery progress, risks, dependencies and impediments.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as a Scrum Master within Agile delivery teams.
- Strong practical understanding of Scrum and Agile principles.
- Experience working in a scaled Agile environment.
- Strong experience of PI Planning and coordinating delivery across multiple teams.
- Demonstrable experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and workshops.
- Strong track record of identifying and removing delivery impediments.
- Experience coaching teams and individuals to improve Agile maturity and delivery discipline.
- Confident working with senior engineering and technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication, facilitation and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, dependencies and delivery challenges.
- Pragmatic, proactive and comfortable working in complex delivery environments.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within Digital Engineering, software engineering or technology-led environments.
- Experience supporting multiple Agile teams or programmes.
- Knowledge of SAFe or another scaled Agile framework.
- Experience working with engineering leadership and technical Product Owners.
- Experience introducing or improving Agile delivery practices within an organisation.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps or similar.

Contract Opportunity
This is an opportunity for an experienced Scrum Master to join a Digital Engineering delivery environment, working closely with engineering teams and senior stakeholders to improve delivery performance, Agile maturity and cross-team coordination.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate hands-on Scrum Master experience, scaled Agile delivery and PI Planning, rather than purely theoretical Agile knowledge.
