We are seeking an experienced Service Designer to join a major defence programme delivering critical digital services within a secure government environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Service Designer who thrives in complex delivery settings and can help shape end-to-end services that meet user needs while supporting organisational and operational objectives.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll collaborate closely with User Researchers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Content Designers and Technical Architects to design and improve services that make a real impact.

The Role

Design and map end-to-end services across multiple channels and touchpoints

Apply service design techniques to understand user needs, business goals and operational requirements

Create service blueprints, user journeys and ecosystem maps

Facilitate workshops and collaborative design activities with stakeholders

Identify opportunities for service improvement and transformation

Work closely with delivery teams to ensure services are accessible, usable and effective

Use research insights and evidence to inform design decisions

Support service assessments and governance activities where required

Essential Skills & Experience

• Active SC Clearance (must be current and transferable)
• Proven experience delivering Service Design on government, defence or complex digital transformation programmes
• Strong understanding of user-centred and service design methodologies
• Experience producing service blueprints, journey maps and other service design artefacts
• Ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus across diverse teams
• Experience working within agile multidisciplinary environments
• Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills

Desirable

• Previous experience within Defence, National Security or Secure Government environments
• Knowledge of GDS Service Standard and service assessment processes
• Experience working on large-scale digital transformation programmes
• Familiarity with complex operational or mission-critical services

Contract Details

Location: Hybrid working with regular attendance in Corsham

Rate: £515 per day

Contract Length: 6 Months

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Clearance: Active SC Clearance required
