Portfolio Manager (Corporate Functions)

Location: Darlington/Hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office)
Salary: £89,600 – £110,000 + Bonus & Benefits

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Portfolio Manager, Programme Manager or Change Leader to oversee a complex portfolio of strategic change across corporate functions within a highly regulated financial services environment.

This role will partner with senior business leaders across functions such as HR, Finance and Technology, ensuring investment is prioritised effectively, delivery capacity is optimised, and strategic objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape, govern and optimise a portfolio of change initiatives across corporate functions.
• Drive portfolio prioritisation, investment planning and governance activities.
• Oversee portfolio performance, risks, dependencies and delivery confidence.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure change programmes align with business strategy.
• Facilitate portfolio trade-off decisions and provide clear recommendations on priorities and investment.
• Continuously improve portfolio management practices, reporting and decision-making frameworks.
• Maintain oversight of demand, capacity and organisational readiness across the portfolio.

About You

• Proven experience operating at Portfolio Manager, Senior Programme Manager, Head of PMO, Head of Portfolio, or similar leadership level.
• Strong background in change, transformation and portfolio governance within financial services.
• Experience overseeing complex portfolios spanning business, technology and operational change.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership teams.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience balancing investment, risk, capacity and strategic priorities.
• Pensions, investments or broader financial services experience highly desirable.
