Platform Architect – Retail Media

• Rate; Up to £750 (inside IR35/via umbrella)
• Location; London – Hybrid working
• Duration; 6 month initial contract

We are looking for an experienced Platform Architect to support the continued development of a complex retail media platform.

The platform brings together campaign planning, media inventory, audience activation, measurement and reporting. As it continues to evolve, this role will provide greater consistency across its architecture, services, data models and engineering teams.

The role

You will work across Product and Engineering to define the target architecture and guide how the platform develops.

You will establish clear architecture standards, domain boundaries, service ownership and data principles. You will also support major platform changes by identifying dependencies, assessing technical options and creating practical transition plans.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Creating and maintaining platform architecture blueprints.
• Defining target state architecture and transition plans.
• Establishing consistent data concepts and models.
• Producing high level designs and architecture impact assessments.
• Supporting architecture reviews and governance.
• Identifying technical gaps, risks and dependencies.
• Leading technical discovery and targeted prototypes.
• Helping reduce technical debt and improve long term maintainability.

Experience required

You will have experience working as a Platform Architect, Solution Architect or Domain Architect within a complex technology environment.

You will bring:

• Strong platform architecture experience.
• Strong platform architecture and distributed systems experience.
• Experience defining architecture standards and reusable patterns.
• Experience working across multiple product and engineering teams.
• Retail Media experience is essential.
