Location: Crawley – Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite

Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys getting hands-on across both cloud and on-premise environments, while also helping to improve, automate and modernise infrastructure?
We’re looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join a well-established organisation and play a key role across its core IT infrastructure.
This is much more than a traditional BAU support position. You’ll act as a senior technical escalation point while contributing to infrastructure design, automation, service improvement and project delivery.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing 3rd line infrastructure support across a complex IT environment
- Supporting and maintaining cloud and on-premise infrastructure
- Working across servers, networking, storage, virtualisation and core infrastructure services
- Supporting LAN, WAN, wireless and wider network infrastructure
- Driving automation across deployments, virtual machines and day-to-day infrastructure processes
- Contributing to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives
- Designing and implementing new and improved infrastructure solutions
- Monitoring system performance, availability and capacity
- Supporting infrastructure projects, upgrades and improvements
- Contributing to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
- Working within an ITIL/ITSM environment, ensuring SLAs and service standards are maintained
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation
- Acting as a senior technical point of contact and providing guidance to other engineers
What we’re looking for
You’ll be an experienced Infrastructure / 3rd Line Engineer with a strong technical background across a broad infrastructure estate.
Ideally, you’ll have experience across:
- Cloud and on-premise infrastructure
- Windows Server environments
- Networking – LAN/WAN, wireless and security
- Virtualisation
- Storage and server infrastructure
- Infrastructure automation / scripting
- Infrastructure as Code
- Monitoring, performance and capacity management
- Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity
- ITIL / IT Service Management
You’ll also need strong communication skills and be comfortable working with technical teams, business stakeholders, suppliers and third parties.
