DevOps Engineer

£500 per day (Inside IR35)

6-Month Contract

Eligibility for SC Clearance

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the delivery and operation of a modern AWS-based platform. This role will be instrumental in building and managing cloud environments, deployment pipelines, platform monitoring, and operational support across a complex technology landscape.

You’ll work closely with development, architecture, and infrastructure teams to drive automation, improve deployment processes, enhance platform reliability, and ensure secure, scaleable cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and optimise AWS cloud environments
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Design, implement, and support CI/CD pipelines
  • Manage containerised applications using Kubernetes and Docker
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions
  • Automate operational tasks and infrastructure processes through scripting
  • Manage environments across development, testing, and production
  • Support cloud security initiatives and best practices
  • Coordinate and support release management activities
  • Maintain Git repositories and version control processes
  • Troubleshoot platform and deployment issues
  • Drive continuous improvement across DevOps practices and tooling

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with AWS platform services
  • Expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container technologies
  • Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions
  • Automation and scripting skills (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Good understanding of cloud security principles and controls
  • Experience with environment management and release processes
  • Strong Git and version control experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within enterprise-scale cloud environments
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps methodologies
  • Experience supporting highly available, business-critical platforms
  • Understanding of platform resilience, scaleability, and performance optimisation
