£650-£700 pd outside IR35

Leading business is looking to recruit a Data Engineering Lead to join a major data transformation programme, leading a small team whilst driving the migration from AWS Redshift to Databricks.

This is a technical leadership role with ownership of the Databricks platform, responsibility for a team of Data Engineers and contractors, and involvement in several business-critical transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 2-5 Data Engineers (both on and offshore)
• Own and drive the migration from Redshift to Databricks.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across data engineering and architecture.
• Support major business and technology transformation programmes.
• Design and deliver scalable cloud-based data solutions.
• Drive engineering best practices, delivery standards and platform improvements.
• Manage BAU support, incidents and operational enhancements.

Requirements

• Strong Data Engineering background within enterprise environments.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, AWS or Azure data platforms.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience leading, mentoring or managing technical teams.
• Proven track record delivering platform migrations or data modernisation initiatives.
