Data Engineer – Real-Time Data & Analytics Products

£600-£700/day Umbrella
Southwest | Hybrid (2-4 days per month onsite)

A leading Financial Services organisation is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support the development of a new data-driven capability focused on high-volume behavioural and location-based data.

This role sits within a cross-functional team responsible for designing how large-scale operational and analytical datasets are captured, modelled and transformed into valuable business insights, customer features and decision-making products.

This is an opportunity to work on a greenfield initiative where data will play a central role in shaping customer experiences, operational processes and future analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable ingestion and transformation patterns for high-volume behavioural and telemetry datasets
• Build reusable, production-grade data models and data product
• Support event-driven and near real-time data processing requirements

Required Experience

• Strong Data Engineering experience within modern cloud environments (AWS)
• Advanced SQL and data modelling skills
• Hands-on Snowflake experience
• Strong dbt experience
• AWS data engineering experience
• Experience building production-grade data pipelines and data products
• Experience working with event-driven, streaming or telemetry-based data
• Experience with geospatial, location, GPS, mobility, IoT or sensor-generated datasets

Desirable Experience

• Product analytics or customer analytics
