AI Engineer (Front End)

£560 per day (Inside IR35) | 12-Month Contract | Remote with Occasional London Travel

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer (Front End) to join a major government programme delivering innovative AI-enabled digital services and user experiences.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AI adoption, helping to design and develop intuitive, user-centric interfaces that leverage emerging AI technologies to transform public sector services.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance AI-enabled user interfaces and digital experiences
• Build responsive, accessible, and scalable front-end applications
• Collaborate with product, UX, data, and AI teams to integrate AI capabilities into customer-facing solutions
• Contribute to the design and implementation of modern web and mobile experiences
• Ensure solutions meet government standards for accessibility, security, and performance
• Participate in agile development practices and continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Front End Engineer/Developer delivering modern digital products
• Strong experience building AI-enabled applications or user experiences
• Expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Next.js, Angular, or Vue
• Experience integrating AI/LLM technologies into digital products
• Strong understanding of UX, accessibility, and responsive design
• Experience working within UK Government or Public Sector environments (essential)
• Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
• Eligible to obtain and maintain BPSS clearance

Desirable Experience

• Experience developing mobile applications (iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter, etc.)
• Familiarity with GenAI platforms, copilots, conversational interfaces, or AI-assisted workflows
• Knowledge of cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP

• Rate: £560 per day
• IR35: Inside IR35
• Duration: 12 months
• Location: Remote, with occasional travel to London
• Clearance: BPSS Eligible
• Start: ASAP
