CYBER SECURITY ENGINEER - LIVERPOOL - HYBRID

A leading financial services organisation are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for a hybrid role based in central Liverpool. The role requires you in the office 10 days per month. Occasional travel to London when required.

You will play an integral part in ensuring that all systems are securely implemented/maintained.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting/maintaining/developing and governance of all security platforms (including SIEM, NAC, Vulnerability Management, Firewalls, 2fA, Endpoint Security, email security, web security)
  • Ensuring all security incidents/alerts/exceptions are responded to in accordance with procedures
  • Conducting advanced network/endpoint/log analysis to determine cause/impact of any incidents (and remediate where necessary)
  • Producing regular vulnerability reports
  • Tracking cyber threat actors/campaigns
  • Providing support to vulnerability analysis/penetration testing/compliance monitoring activities
  • Technical documentation of all solutions
  • Acting as a technical escalation point for security events for other engineers, developing them through mentoring/handover

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong awareness of the cyber security threat landscape/SIEM tools/firewalls/boundary controls
  • Excellent troubleshooting/investigating skills
  • A solid understanding of threat analysis/cyber threat intelligence
  • The ability to look at complex threats and be confident regarding forensic analysis and surrounding techniques
  • Strong experience/knowledge of using Security Information and Event Management tools
  • Strong experience/knowledge of implementing/supporting Network Access Control
  • Familiarity with security vulnerabilities/exploits/malware/digital forensics
