DevOps Engineer - AWS, IaC, remote

I'm recruiting on behalf of an established business who have grown throughout the pandemic. They didn't furlough one member of staff and have consistantly added to their team due to ongoing growth.

You'll be joinging a significant IT team based in their offices near Bolton, but working from home is the norm providing you can get into the office for meetings a couple of times per month.

They're seeking an experienced DevOps engineer to support the development and operations teams in building and deploying web applications, as well as configuring and maintaining the infrastructure required to support and maintain them.

You will need to be able to comfortably liaise between different teams, and have a good understanding of the business needs and priorities.

From a technical perspective, you will have the following experience: -

  • A history of successfully Building and Deploying Web Applications using TeamCity/Jenkins and ideally knowledge of Build Scripts
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management including use of GIT and other Configuration and provisioning (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation/Ansible/Terraform
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the security aspects concerning Web Applications and how to meet their requirements
  • Experience with Linux Server and Production experience with applications deployed in the Cloud (AWS preferred)
  • Experience Scripting and automation on Windows and Linux OS, e.g. Bash, Git, Python, PowerShell, SQL, JSON, YAML, etc
  • Look to automate where possible to improve the efficiency, robustness and reliability of our build and deployment process
