This is an engineering-first role focused on AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD security and platform protection. You’ll work alongside Platform Engineering, Developer Platform and Security Architecture teams to ensure security is embedded into the platform rather than bolted on afterwards.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Engineering and maintaining security controls across a multi-tenant AWS platform
  • Implementing and managing IAM controls including SCPs, Permission Boundaries and ABAC
  • Designing secure workload identity and tenant isolation controls
  • Embedding security into CI/CD delivery pipelines
  • Implementing container, IaC, secrets and software composition scanning
  • Building software supply chain security controls including image signing, verification and SBOM generation
  • Developing Policy-as-Code controls using OPA, Rego, Kyverno or similar technologies
  • Securing and hardening EKS environments through RBAC, Network Policies and Admission Controllers
  • Supporting mTLS, PKI and service-to-service authentication initiatives
  • Driving remediation of security findings and penetration test outcomes
  • Creating reusable security modules, patterns and golden paths for engineering teams

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience within DevSecOps, Cloud Security Engineering or Platform Security
  • Strong AWS security expertise, including IAM, SCPs, Permission Boundaries and ABAC
  • Commercial experience securing Kubernetes environments, ideally EKS
  • Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code experience
  • Building security controls into CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with workload identity, PKI and mTLS
  • Strong understanding of software supply chain security
  • Scripting or development capability using Python, Go or similar
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, platform teams and security architects

Desirable Experience

  • Istio and Service Mesh security
  • AWS Private CA and IAM Roles Anywhere
  • Harness CI/CD
  • OPA, Gatekeeper, Kyverno or OSCAL
  • Sigstore, Cosign, SLSA and SBOM tooling
  • Internal Developer Platform (IDP) security
  • AWS Security Specialty, CKS, CISSP or equivalent certifications
  • Experience within regulated financial services environments

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to shape the security foundations of a major enterprise platform operating at significant scale. You’ll be working on modern cloud-native security challenges across AWS, Kubernetes, platform engineering and software supply chain security, helping define the controls and guardrails that every engineering team will rely upon.

We’re supporting a major programme seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Platform & DevOps Engineer to build and operate the automated cloud delivery foundations underpinning a critical private beta environment.

Active SC clearance is essential and must have been used within the last 12 months, with a minimum of 3 years remaining before expiry.

This is a hands-on platform engineering role focused on creating secure, resilient and highly automated AWS environments that enable teams to develop, test and deploy software efficiently while maintaining strong governance and operational controls.

You’ll work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Quality and Assurance teams to deliver the cloud platforms, deployment pipelines and operational capabilities that support successful programme delivery.

                    The Role

                    * Build and operate AWS cloud infrastructure and shared platform services.
                    * Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions.
                    * Create and support CI/CD pipelines to enable secure, repeatable deployments.
                    * Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and observability capabilities.
                    * Ensure platform resilience, availability and operational readiness.
                    * Manage configuration, secrets and environment controls.
                    * Embed security best practice throughout the delivery lifecycle.
                    * Support incident response, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
                    * Work across engineering and assurance teams to ensure environments meet security and operational requirements.
                    * Drive automation and platform engineering best practices.

                    What We’re Looking For

                    * Strong AWS cloud engineering and platform experience.
                    * Background in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
                    * Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
                    * Strong CI/CD pipeline experience.
                    * Experience with containerisation technologies, ideally Docker and Kubernetes.
                    * Strong understanding of observability, monitoring and operational support.
                    * Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, secrets management and governance controls.
                    * Experience delivering and supporting production cloud environments within secure or regulated settings.
                    * Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.

                    Essential Requirements

                    * Active SC Clearance.
                    * Clearance must have been used within the last 12 months.
                    * A minimum of 3 years remaining before expiry.
                    * Ability to attend a London office 2 days per week.

                    The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term programme where you’ll help shape the AWS platform, delivery pipelines and operational capabilities from an early stage. You’ll be working on a high-profile environment alongside engineering, architecture and assurance teams, helping to establish the secure cloud foundations that enable successful delivery at scale.
