Public Affairs Manager

£70,000 – £90,000 + 20% bonus (dependant on Experience)

Hybrid – 2 days a week in Central London

We are working in Partnership with a technology business in the financial services ecosystem to hire an experienced senior Public Affairs Manager to support them during a period of transformation and expansion.

You will work closely with the Head of Public Policy to design and execute strategy and maintain their relationship with the government, policymakers and regulators.

This role would be perfect for someone who is highly experienced working in mid-size businesses either in Tech, Fintech or Financial Services, executing public affairs engagement plans.

The Role

  • Brief senior leadership internally on public policy
  • Design and execute public affairs engagement plans to strength reputation across parliament, government, trade bodies and media and build relationships in this space
  • Deliver briefings to influence policy and legislative outcomes
  • Maintain and execute public affairs / public relations schedule
  • Prepare materials for political audiences and media outlets – including policy briefings speeches, speaking notes and more

We’re Looking For

  • Experience as a Public Affairs Specialist with significant experience interacting with parliamentarians, ministers and government officials
  • A strong understanding of Fintech / Technology policy
  • Experience supporting and managing corporate events
  • Very strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong experience in Technology, Fintech or Financial Services in highly desirable

    Overview

    We are working in partnership with a fantastic, established and growing Insurance Software business who are looking to hire an Interim Marketing Lead to drive the function over a period of 12 months. You will manage a team of 3 and report into Senior Leadership in an ambitious and well established Insurtech company.

    This role is responsible for leading the marketing team, delivering strategy and multi-channel marketing programmes to drive the future of the long-term sales lifecycle.

    This role would be perfect for a strong, B2B generalist marketing leader with experience in Insurance (and ideally technology) who has a particular strength in B2B Events and Community building through networking and campaign execution.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • B2B Marketing Strategy
    • Multi-channel Campaign Management
    • Events Management and Marketing – Trade Shows, Conferences, Client Engagements.
    • Overseeing (though no need to be a specialist in) Paid Media, SEO, Social Media, Email Marketing, CRM

    What We’re Looking for

    Essential:

    • Very strong broad generalist B2B marketing leadership experience
    • Experience in Marketing Strategy and Planning, aligning to commercial goals
    • Experience delivering marketing campaigns in insurance / Insurtech / Insurance SaaS or similar – either marketing to these companies or for them
    • Strong experience in Events Marketing and Networking
    • Strong stakeholder management skills with commercial acumen

    Desirable:

    • Experience in a Technology environment is desirable
    • Experience managing a team – desirable
    • Experience in a midsize company – desirable
    • Management of a small team – desirable
    • An understanding of CRM, Marketing Analytics, and Paid channels (managed here by specialists) – desirable

      About the Role

      This is an exciting and dynamic opportunity to play a central role in delivering internal communications and colleague engagement activity within a large, complex organisation undergoing significant transformation.

      Reporting into the Head of Communications, you will work closely with global communications, HR and transformation teams, as well as senior stakeholders across the business, to deliver impactful change communications, engagement initiatives and wider communication activity. With the organisation moving at pace, this role offers real opportunity to shape culture, influence engagement and make a lasting positive impact.

      Key Responsibilities

      Working closely with senior leaders and teams across the business, you will:

      • Plan and deliver a programme of internal communications across multiple channels to help colleagues connect with the organisation’s strategy, priorities and ambitions
      • Own the internal digital communications platform, weekly digest and content calendar, acting as a central point of contact for content
      • Partner with senior leadership to create meaningful and engaging communications that inform, update and motivate colleagues
      • Lead the delivery of colleague engagement initiatives, including ownership of the Employee Survey and driving participation and engagement
      • Act as communications lead for key engagement activities such as recognition programmes
      • Take a proactive, creative approach to advising on new and innovative communication and engagement methods to support culture embedding
      • Support wider business communications, including key announcements and selected external communications activity (e.g. LinkedIn content)

      About You

      This role is well suited to someone with experience working in‑house within a large, complex or global organisation, supporting varied audiences including remote, desk‑based and operational colleagues.

      You will bring:

      • Experience working within a large, global organisation, ideally with multilingual audiences
      • Background in manufacturing or similarly complex environments (strongly preferred)
      • Broad communications experience, with a strong internal communications focus and some external exposure
      • Solid understanding of change and engagement principles, ideally gained through transformation programmes
      • Strong stakeholder management skills, including confidence working with senior leadership
      • Ability to simplify complex strategic messaging while maintaining a consistent narrative for different audiences
      • A calm, pragmatic approach, particularly during periods of change or ambiguity
      • Strong delivery focus with excellent prioritisation and execution skills
