Security Engineer (DevSecOps)

Rate – £550 – £650 Inside IR35
Duration – 6 months initial
Location – London once a week on site

Reports to: Head of Security Architecture and Engineering

The role:

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building security into software as developed and deployed. You’ll work across three workstreams alongside three Senior DevSecOps Engineers. You’ll pick up work where it’s most needed, keep security consistent across all three workstreams and make sure nothing falls between them.

It suits a software, DevOps or platform engineer who has already built security into their day-to-day work and wants to take it further. You’ll get exposure to platform, AI and integration security.

What you’ll do

• Set up and tune security scanning in CI/CD pipelines, cut down false positives and help developers fix real issues.
• Build shared security modules, policy libraries and templates that all three teams can reuse.
• Review code, infrastructure-as-code and configuration changes for security issues.
• Handle day-to-day vulnerability management, including pen test findings: prioritise what’s genuinely exploitable, track fixes and check they’ve worked.
• Help run threat modelling sessions in IriusRisk and turn the results into backlog tickets.
• Look after secrets management, certificates and access reviews and keep security documentation, control evidence and CAB records up to date.
• Be the go-to person when security is blocking a delivery team, cover for the senior engineers when priorities shift and flag where teams are solving the same problem in different ways.

What you’ll need

• Hands-on experience in software engineering, DevOps or platform engineering with a strong security focus, or in security engineering.
• Experience with CI/CD and security scanning tools (SAST, SCA, secrets, IaC and container scanning).
• Python or Bash and Terraform.
• AWS fundamentals including IAM, plus working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes.
• A good grasp of vulnerability management, including CVSS, EPSS and judging whether an issue is really exploitable.
• Clear written communication and comfortable switching between teams.

Nice to have

• A security certification such as AWS Certified Security – CKS, CompTIA Security+, GIAC or CISSP.
• Exposure to policy-as-code or Istio.
• Experience in a regulated environment.
• An interest in AI security.

Our client, a global leader in software systems, is building AI agents that generate production .NET code under developer supervision. The goal of this greenfield is a spec-driven pipeline where a specification and technical plan drive what the agent builds, and a developer reviews and validates the output at every stage before it ships.

We are looking for a contractor who has built and shipped AI agents in production and who brings a strong .NET background. This is a hands-on engineering role with scope to set the technical direction and bring the wider team up to speed on the approach.

What you will do:

• Design and build agents that produce production-grade .NET code.
• Implement a spec-driven development workflow (spec, plan, tasks, implement), using Spec Kit.
• Build review and approval gates so developers can verify and correct agent output before it is merged.
• Integrate tools and data sources into the agents via MCP (Model Context Protocol).
• Set up evaluation, guardrails and tests to catch incorrect output early.
• Work alongside engineering team’s and upskill them on agentic patterns and the spec-driven approach.

Essential experience:

• Proven track record building and shipping AI agents in production, including tool calling, orchestration and multi-step workflows. Prototype-only experience will not be enough.
• Strong .NET and C# background (.NET 8/9, ASP.NET Core).
• Hands-on with a .NET-native agent framework, such as Microsoft Agent Framework or Semantic Kernel.
• Experience building agents whose output is code, with a clear focus on validating and verifying correctness.
• Familiarity with spec-driven development, ideally Spec Kit.
• Experience integrating tools via MCP.
• Designing human-in-the-loop review and approval gates within agent workflows.

Overview

We are looking for an AI Automation Tester to support IBM on a major programme of work

The role will focus on designing and executing automated testing across an AI-enabled solution, covering traditional functional and integration testing alongside the additional challenges involved in validating AI-generated responses and behaviours.

You’ll work as part of the wider delivery team to ensure the solution is reliable, performs as expected and continues to meet requirements as it develops.

Key Responsibilities

We’re supporting a major programme seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Platform & DevOps Engineer to build and operate the automated cloud delivery foundations underpinning a critical private beta environment.

Active SC clearance is essential and must have been used within the last 12 months, with a minimum of 3 years remaining before expiry.

This is a hands-on platform engineering role focused on creating secure, resilient and highly automated AWS environments that enable teams to develop, test and deploy software efficiently while maintaining strong governance and operational controls.

You’ll work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Quality and Assurance teams to deliver the cloud platforms, deployment pipelines and operational capabilities that support successful programme delivery.

The Role
