Role Overview
As a User Researcher, you’ll work in multidisciplinary teams to design user-centred digital services. You’ll lead research efforts, apply inclusive design principles, and ensure accessibility across all stages of the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and conduct impactful user research.
- Lead research activities including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and diary studies.
- Apply both qualitative and quantitative methods to gather actionable insights.
- Advocate for inclusive and accessible design practices.
- Communicate findings effectively to inform design and product decisions.
- Support the integration of user-centred design across teams and projects.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading user research using a range of methodologies.
- Experience across discovery, design, and delivery phases.
- Familiarity with GDS service standards and design principles.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of prototyping and testing user journeys.
- Proficiency with remote and in-person research tools.
Desirable:
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, HCI, Sociology).
- Experience with assistive technologies and accessibility testing.
- Accessibility certifications (e.g., CPACC, WAS, CPWA).
- Passion for continuous learning and emerging technologies.
