Software Engineer

Sanderson are working with a leading financial services organisation that puts customers at the centre of its business. The company is going through a period of impressive growth across their technology team, creating opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to the development of its digital platforms.

As a Software Engineer, you will work within a skilled, cross-functional team to build and maintain AWS Cloud-native applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and React, contributing to modern, scalable, secure, and high-performance digital platforms. The role involves coaching peers, supporting the team in development best practices, and helping to continuously improve delivery, quality, and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain cloud-native applications using Node.js, React, and Next.js.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code and leverage cloud services for scalable, secure applications.
• Write high-quality, secure, tested, and performant code, including automated tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features, enhancements, and improvements to digital client journeys.
• Mentor peers, provide engineering support, and advocate for best practices across quality, CI/CD, performance, and security.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience with Node.js, React, and Next.js.
• Professional experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and modern web application architecture.
• Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering a starting salary up to £65,000 (DOE) and a remote-first working model.
