Sanderson are working with a leading financial services organisation that puts customers at the centre of its business. The company is going through a period of impressive growth across their technology team, creating opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to the development of its digital platforms.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development, maintenance, and evolution of key digital platforms, working across the full technology stack to deliver secure, scalable, and performant solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital client journeys.
- Drive technical direction to enable modern, scalable, secure, and high-performing applications.
- Write high-quality, tested, secure, and performant code, and create automated tests for all changes.
- Document solutions according to team standards and provide ongoing engineering support and maintenance for existing applications.
- Coach and mentor peers and junior team members, advocating continuous improvement in ways of working, quality, security, performance, and CI/CD processes.
- Engage in communities of practice and working groups to support the development team.
Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience with Java 11+, Spring Boot, RDBMS, and SQL.
- Proficient in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, with experience in CI/CD and Trunk-Based Development.
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and tracing to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Strong collaborative skills, able to work effectively in cross-functional Agile teams, with clear verbal and written communication.
- Proactive, pragmatic, and focused on delivery, with a growth mindset and willingness to coach and share knowledge within the team.
This is a full-time, permanent role offering a starting salary up to £65,000 (DOE) and a remote-first working model.
