Senior Business Analyst – Biometrics (DNA Programme)

Rate: Up to £600 per day (Outside IR35 – flexible for the right candidate)
Contract: Outside IR35
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a specialist biometrics programme, supporting the enhancement and evolution of critical DNA and biometric capabilities.

Working within a client-side assurance and leadership function, you will act as a subject matter expert, providing strategic business analysis across complex programmes. Rather than focusing on hands-on technical delivery, you will be responsible for ensuring business requirements are clearly understood, validated, and aligned across multiple stakeholders and delivery partners.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in biometric technologies, particularly DNA and fingerprint systems, who enjoys working within complex, highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, and documentation across complex biometrics projects.
  • Review and assure business requirements produced by suppliers and delivery partners.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure requirements are aligned with strategic programme objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor within a client-side assurance and governance function.
  • Facilitate workshops and engage with business, technical, and operational stakeholders.
  • Review solution proposals and ensure business needs are accurately reflected throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Support programme governance by providing business analysis expertise across multiple workstreams.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies relating to business requirements and solution delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis practices and programme outcomes.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience working as a Senior Business Analyst on complex transformation or technology programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Proven experience in requirements gathering, validation, and assurance.
  • Experience reviewing supplier or third-party deliverables.
  • Ability to operate within governance and assurance functions rather than purely delivery-focused teams.
  • Experience working within secure, regulated, or government environments.

Highly Desirable Experience

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following will be particularly well suited:

  • DNA systems
  • Fingerprint systems
  • Biometric technologies
  • National biometric platforms
  • Identity management or forensic systems

Knowledge of large-scale biometric programmes or national identity solutions would be a significant advantage.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will combine exceptional business analysis skills with the ability to engage confidently across business and technical stakeholders.
