Senior Analytics Engineer – NHS
Location: UK (Hybrid)
Rate: £515 per day (Inside IR35)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer to join a high-profile NHS programme, supporting the design and delivery of modern, scalable data and analytics pipelines.
This role will play a key part in improving how data is processed and utilised to drive clinical insights, operational performance, and decision-making across healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and buildscalable, end-to-end data pipelines on AWS, including:
- Data ingestion, transformation, validation, and output generation
- Develop and maintain a dedicated reporting database, reducing reliance on ad-hoc querying against operational systems
- Leverage AWS services such as Athena,S3, Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions to deliver:
- Automated scheduling
- Orchestration and monitoring
- Implement data quality checks and maintain a clear audit trail across all processing steps
- Develop analytical reports and dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to communicate insights to stakeholders
- Build and maintain repeatable analytical solutions to support programme monitoring and reporting needs
- Produce well-documented, maintainable code and processes
Technical Requirements
- Strong experience with:
- SQL and Python
- AWS (data/analytics services)
- Hands-on experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- Proven track record building data pipelines, reporting layers, and analytics solutions
- Strong focus on data quality, validation, and governance
Ways of Working
- Experience in Agile delivery environments
- Familiarity with:
- Paired programming
- Test-driven development (TDD / Playwright)
- Git / GitHub
- CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Strong commitment to clean code, documentation, and best practice engineering
