Key Responsibilities
Governance & Secretariat
Lead the provision of governance and secretariat services to the Programme Board, ensuring clear decision-making, effective escalation routes, and robust governance frameworks.
* Reporting & Insight
Own the development and delivery of high-quality, timely reporting and dashboards, providing actionable insight, challenge, and narrative to support senior stakeholder decision-making.
* Planning & Controls
Oversee integrated programme planning, including the Portfolio schedule, Critical Milestone log, and Plan-on-a-Page (PoAP).
Ensure effective change control processes are in place, with impacts clearly assessed and managed.
* RAID & Dependency Management
Lead the proactive management of Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies (RAID), driving mitigation strategies and ensuring visibility and accountability across the programme.
* Financial Oversight
Processing of Purchase Orders, receipting and management, aligning to budget spend ensuring accurate accounting each month to enable reporting.
* Stakeholder & Delivery Alignment
Partner with Project Managers and work stream leads to ensure consistent standards, timely delivery of outputs, and adherence to governance requirements.
* PMO Leadership & Capability Development
Lead and develop the PMO function, driving the adoption and continuous improvement of project management methodologies, processes, tools, and templates.
Essential Requirements
* Strong leadership experience within a PMO or Portfolio Management environment, ideally in a complex transformation programme.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) and reporting tools.
* Recognised Project/Programme Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, APM).
* Proven experience in programme controls, including planning, risk management, and change control.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to translate data into insight for senior stakeholders.
* Experience of financial management and benefits tracking within a programme environment.
* Demonstrable experience of managing third-party suppliers and contractors, ensuring quality and value for money.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to influence at senior levels.
* Collaborative, proactive, and delivery-focused leadership style.
