Middle Office Business Analyst
Initial 6-month contract
Hybrid – 2-3 days per week in London
We’re seeking an experienced Middle Office Operations Business Analyst to join a leading investment management organisation. This role combines strong Business Analysis capability with deep Investment Operations expertise, making it ideal for someone who enjoys driving change while understanding the operational realities behind investment products and processes.
Working closely with Operations, Technology and Change teams, you’ll analyse business processes, document requirements, improve controls and data flows, and support strategic initiatives across the middle office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with operations and business stakeholders to gather, analyse and document requirements.
- Review and enhance operational processes, controls and data flows across the middle office function.
- Support the delivery of operational change, system enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to operating model reviews, new product launches and strategic business change programmes.
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains and improved management reporting.
- Ensure operational requirements are clearly translated into sustainable business solutions.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within investment management, asset management or hedge fund environments.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Investment Operations/Middle Office functions, including:
- Reconciliations
- Corporate Actions
- Cash Management
- NAV Oversight
- P&L
- FX
- Collateral Management
- Excellent understanding of public market asset lifecycles, including Equities, Fixed Income, Futures and FX Forwards.
- Experience delivering business change initiatives, process improvements, operating model changes or system implementations.
- Strong understanding of operational data flows, controls, oversight processes and reconciliations.
- Advanced Excel skills (including VBA) and working knowledge of SQL. Python would be advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
