Head of IT Business Partner – Finance / hybrid 2 days on site / 6 month initial
The Role
We’re looking for a senior IT Business Partner to lead the relationship between technology and the finance function for a large, complex organisation.
This is a strategic leadership role, where you’ll work closely with senior finance stakeholders to shape technology roadmaps, drive digital transformation, and ensure IT investment delivers real business value.
You’ll act as a trusted advisor to the business, aligning IT strategy with commercial priorities while overseeing delivery and outcomes across a broad portfolio of initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior finance leaders to understand priorities and translate them into IT strategy
- Define and own technology roadmaps aligned to business objectives
- Shape and prioritise demand, ensuring focus on high-value initiatives
- Oversee IT budgets (CapEx & OpEx) and ensure return on investment
- Drive end-to-end project engagement, from planning through to value realisation
- Collaborate with architecture, delivery, and operations teams to deliver scalable solutions
- Act as a key escalation point for critical IT issues and risks
- Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice
About You
- Proven experience in IT Business Partnering, IT Strategy, or senior IT leadership roles
- Strong background working with finance functions or finance systems (e.g. ERP)
- Experience delivering digital transformation or large-scale IT programmes
- Comfortable managing senior stakeholders and influencing at leadership level
- Strong commercial awareness, including budget ownership and value delivery
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture, IT governance (ITIL/COBIT), and delivery frameworks (Agile/PRINCE2)
