Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Defence Sector
Location: Glasgow
Security Clearance: SC / DV required
Job Type: Full-Time / Contract / Permanent

Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and support electrical systems for defence platforms and infrastructure. This role involves working on high-integrity systems in a secure, safety-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, and wiring harnesses for defence equipment.

• Produce technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.

• Support system integration, testing, and fault-finding.

• Ensure compliance with defence standards and safety regulations.

• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and software teams across projects.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or related field).

• Experience in electrical design for defence, aerospace, or industrial systems.

• Proficient in tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or Altium.

• Understanding of EMC, power distribution, and safety-critical design

• Eligible for SC / DV security clearance.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with military standards (e.g. DEF STANs, MIL-STDs).

• Experience with high-reliability or ruggedised systems.

• Knowledge of systems engineering and lifecycle processes.
