Modelling Production Manager - Edinburgh

We have an exciting opportunity for a Modelling Production Manager to join our financial services client based in Edinburgh on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The main purpose of this role is to support delivery of all aspects of the actuarial modelling required for IFRS 17 reporting. This includes responsibility for the operation and development of the complex actuarial modelling systems that are used to produce the IFRS17 metrics.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, implementing, monitoring and updating timetables and running schedules for all required model production activity for IFRS17.
  • Delivering all modelling results to agreed timescales, checked and reviewed for accuracy, meeting all validation and control requirements.
  • Supporting IFRS17 project work as required to help ensure the programme objectives are met, including development and/or testing work as required
  • Making a strong and meaningful contribution to the Finance Solutions leadership team, proactively promoting new ideas for developing technology, improving processes, engaging staff and improving service to customers.
  • Where required working with the work management toolsets such as Q Test and Jira.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

The successful candidate will ideally be working within a life insurance business as part of an actuarial modelling team and possess actuarial reporting/modelling production experience.

  • Experienced user of Prophet actuarial modelling software
  • Knowledge of IFRS17
  • Good leadership skills and personal credibility
  • Sound judgement and ability to operate independently and objectively
  • Creative and innovative outlook, with an ability to bring fresh thinking to established teams and processes
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to extract and convey relevant information in a concise and comprehensible manner
