Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Solution Architect to join one of our clients’ growing teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a technology leader to play a pivotal role in shaping, designing, and delivering robust, scalable application architectures across a range of complex enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end solution design for business-critical applications.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into coherent architectural designs.
  • Define application architectures in alignment with enterprise strategy, governance, and standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including business analysts, developers, testers, and project managers to ensure delivery success.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and platforms to support solution needs.
  • Ensure non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability, maintainability) are met.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect in enterprise-scale application environments.
  • Strong background in software development and application design.
  • Familiarity with modern architectural patterns (e.g. microservices, event-driven, API-first).
  • Knowledge of integration technologies and platforms (REST, SOAP, message queues).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.

Desirable:

  • TOGAF or equivalent architectural certification.
  • Background in Agile/DevOps environments.
  • Sector experience in [insurance / finance / public sector / retail – adjust as needed].

    Sanderson Government and Defence is working with a business supporting the Ministry of Defence with a service desk solution. They are looking for someone with 3 years experience in a relevant role (1st line is fine) to join as a 2nd Line Support Analyst on a 12 month rolling FTC.

    You should have a technical background providing support to end users via helpdesk software, an understanding of ITIL best practices and a customer focused approach.

    You will have the opportunity to progress towards Oracle and SQL Database management as well as potentially mentoring of more junior team members in due course.

    Due to the high level of clearance the company will look to put you through, you must be a Sole UK National in order to apply to this position.

    You must also be able to commute to Bristol Business Park in Stoke Gifford, this is a full time on site role with some flexibility depending on end client requirements, but this cannot be guaranteed.

    This ia a great role for someone interested in working with the MoD and looking to progress towards the 2nd Line.

      The primary purpose of this role is to define business change related technology strategies, including Cloud (Azure) technology strategies, for our client whilst taking account of the Technology direction of the wider group. You will work closely with a Data Science/Data Strategy team addressing business change activities and implications across the wider infrastructure.

      You will also put in place repeatable Architecture patterns & produce Infrastructure Designs. Security & service are key aspects for these Designs.

      The Role entails working with and influencing a variety of Business and Technical Stakeholders, understanding overall Business & IT Strategy, compliance and ongoing business change requirements.

      In addition to the above, the role is responsible for Architectural Assurance of Deliveries and for the QA of Peer Deliverables, this will include production of high-level Operational Acceptance Test Plans.

      The assignment is not ‘hands-on’, but it may entail working with SMEs to provide Advice & Guidance during the implementation.

      The role will include Technology Governance across multiple Technology areas and to ensure that the right decisions are being made and are for the benefit of the Company.
