Junior Project Manager – Software

We are seeking a motivated Junior Project Manager to join a growing IT services company specialising in the development of bespoke software applications. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across all aspects of project delivery in a dynamic and supportive environment, with opportunities for career growth and international exposure.

Location: Remote
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
Benefits: 25 days annual leave, pension plan

Role Overview:
As a Junior Project Manager, you will work alongside a Senior Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard. You will be involved in planning, coordinating, and tracking project milestones, as well as liaising with stakeholders and supporting the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of projects using hybrid Agile/Waterfall methodologies

  • Assist in the development and execution of project plans

  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and sprint progress in Azure DevOps

  • Coordinate activities with internal teams and external stakeholders

  • Maintain project documentation, including status reports, meeting notes, and governance documents

  • Manage project RAID logs and support governance throughout the project lifecycle

  • Support and learn all parts of the software development lifecycle, including compliance, governance, and testing

Additional Responsibilities (Desirable):

  • Review software requirements and develop test plans

  • Execute manual tests on software applications and systems

  • Raise, track, and collaborate on resolving software defects

  • Perform regression and functional testing aligned with project milestones

  • Create test documentation and reports

  • Conduct compliance auditing aligned with ISO 27001

Skills & Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in project management or similar roles

  • Good understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies

  • Experience with project tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, or JIRA

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders

  • Ability to identify and manage risks and issues

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes (beneficial but not essential)

  • UK residency and ability to obtain basic security clearance

    Title: Project Manager
    Duration: 6 Months
    Location: York or Bristol – 2 or 3 days per week onsite (must be able to commit to 2 days)
    Day Rate: £550 to £650prd (Inside IR35, via Umbrella)

    Skills & Experience Required:

    • Looking for a seasoned Finance Project Manager
    • Experience of working with Finance / Actuarial / Investment Teams
    • Knowledge of Actuarial and Reconciliation/Accounts projects
    • MUST HAVE previous experience of working on Finance related Projects
    • Previous experience of working with CFO’s and Senior Finance Stakeholders across multiple Finance Functions
    • Strong Communication skills
    • Ability to delivery across multiple projects
    • Experience of turning around projects quickly
    • Identify and Recover any gaps within a project.
    • Have worked within the Financial Services or Insurance or for a large complex regulated business
