Role: Lead Platform Engineer

Location: Remote, with some travel to Corsham

Rate: £500 outside IR35

Clearance: DV (or SC willing to undergo DV).

We are seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to help us build the D2S Platform, a cloud-native Kubernetes environment for defence applications.

Key responsibilities

The Lead Platform Engineer delivers and integrates software to form a complete DevOps toolchain. They are responsible for planning and designing large groups of stories.

  • transform technical requirements into an effective DevOps toolchain to enable product delivery
  • provide coaching and mentoring to more junior colleagues
  • ensure that deployment strategies for products are repeatable, scalable and highly available
  • have deep technical knowledge, providing support to delivery teams and solving complex problems

Knowledge of and ability to implement solutions for:

  • VMware / Similar virtualisation platforms
  • OpenShift / Kubernetes
  • Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
  • Infoblox / DNS
  • TLS certificate management
