Charities we support

At Sanderson, we believe it is our responsibility to put time and energy into not only the work and partnerships we build, but also into our chosen charities and employees.
This year we chose to support four incredible charities through various fundraising activities such as company bingo, quiz nights, and bake sales. Our chosen charities are Little Hero, Mind, Macmillan, and Shelter.
The charity Little Hero is one that is close to the heart of Sanderson. To read up on the story behind Little Hero click here.
Due to the support and donations Little Hero has received, they were able to open up Will’s Woodland. A free holiday retreat for families affected by childhood cancer. Wills Woodland provides an opportunity for families to escape and take a break away from a hospital setting, in safety and seclusion, to find time to just be a family again.
“We have been amazed by the demand for breaks, families in treatment often spend their time between home and hospital with very little alternative. Since opening a few weeks ago we now have 50 family’s book for a stay. This would not have been possible without generous donations from our supporters, as families simply had no alternative available. We estimate it costs £40 per night to host a family, with continued financial support, we hope to help as many families as possible”. – John Rainsbury

For Pride Month this year, we supported Macmillan, as well as Mermaids UK. To raise money, we held a bingo night with host and special guest Dominique Fleek.
Mermaids UK is a charity that has been helping and supporting transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse children, young people, and their families since 1995.
Now, Mermaids is one of the UKs leading LGBTQ+ charities, empowering thousands of people with its secure online communities, local communities’ groups, helpline services, web resources, events, and residential weekends.
We felt it was important to not only celebrate the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month, but to also support and give back to a, incredible charity.
Our employees also take part in Macmillan Coffee Mornings, which are a fantastic way to not only support an important charity, but they’re a great way to bring colleagues together over a cup of tea and a slice of cake!
