SENIOR IT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER – STOKE ON TRENT

Role Overview:

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our client’s team in Stoke on Trent. As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be instrumental in building, configuring, and deploying bespoke communications solutions, focusing on security and best practice.

Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Deployment and Maintenance: Deploy, configure, and maintain scalable and secure IT infrastructure, including servers, application servers, storage, and virtualisation technologies.

• Documentation: Produce high-quality LLD/Build documentation detailing configurations and processes.

• Security Implementation: Implement security best practices and protocols to protect company data and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.

• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, identify improvement opportunities, and deploy solutions.

• Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

• Solution Design: Support the design of new solutions, assessing requirements and identifying improvement opportunities.

• Infrastructure Upgrades and Expansions: Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansions in coordination with stakeholders.

• Feasibility Studies and Testing: Support feasibility studies, prototyping, and testing to validate service concepts and ensure performance, reliability, and suitability.

• Communication: Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders, including senior management and cross-functional teams.

• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate new tools and solutions, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency, security, and reliability.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field beneficial.
• Proven experience in a senior infrastructure engineering role.
• Technical proficiency in deploying Dell VxRail architecture, VMware vSphere, vSAN technologies, and Windows servers/applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to deploy and maintain scalable and secure database solutions using SQL server.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current security clearance with view to obtain DV
