Senior DevOps Engineer / SC CLEARED

Location: London or Cheltenham – 2 days on-site

Rate: £60,000 – £75,000

Skills/Knowledge

The role requires the following key skills / knowledge, non-exhaustively:
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field
* Professional experience as DevOps engineer, preferably in a consultancy or industry setting
* Experience with working with working with one or more Cloud service providers – AWS, GCP or Azure
* Experience developing cloud solutions that can be ported to on premise
* Good understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles, and experience in practical application (e.g. provisioning/deployment via Ansible, Terraform, Helm)
* Experience building solutions with Network Security considerations
* Good understanding of networking concepts such as Private VPCs, Security Groups, NAT Gateways
* Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
* Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum. In particular iterative approaches to software development in conjunction with the client
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to find innovative solutions to complex technical challenges
* Excellent communication and presentation skills or Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
* Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in fast-paced environments
* A passion for delivering high quality solutions that meet client expectations
* Familiarity with Software Engineering practices and principles, such as CI/CD pipelines for verifying, building, testing and pushing deployment artefacts
* Experience in OCI containerisation (e.g. Docker) and associated orchestration technologies (e.g. Kubernetes)
* Experience in setting up centralised logging and monitoring of deployed infrastructure
* Knowledge of infrastructure security principles and best practices
