We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to support a major defence programme, delivering secure, scalable and resilient solutions across complex environments.

Your Role

You will lead the design and assurance of technical architectures, ensuring alignment with operational and business needs while meeting strict defence and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop high- and low-level technical designs across defence systems
• Design secure architectures spanning hybrid cloud, data platforms, secure networks, and edge environments
• Support integration across MOD, allied, and industry systems
• Ensure compliance with MOD standards, NCSC CAF, ISO 27001, and Zero Trust principles
• Contribute to technical governance, design reviews, and assurance activities
• Engage with senior stakeholders and present architectural recommendations
• Assess emerging technologies (AI, cloud, cyber, data) for defence use

Experience Required

• Strong technical architecture experience in defence, government, or regulated environments
• Proven delivery of enterprise-scale, secure solutions
• Experience with systems integration, interoperability, and hybrid/classified environments
• Familiarity with MOD or NATO programmes and governance frameworks

Technical Skills

• Architecture: Solution, Infrastructure, Integration, Systems Engineering
• Platforms: VMware, Kubernetes, containerisation, private cloud
• Security: Zero Trust, IAM, encryption, secure networks
• Data & Integration: APIs, event-driven architecture, messaging, data platforms
• Tools: Sparx EA, Jira, Confluence, Git, DevOps, IaC

Desirable

Experience in defence R&D, command & control, secure cloud migration, AI-enabled systems, or multi-domain integration.
