SC Business Analyst (Modelling & Data Analysis)

Day rate: Up to £550 per day
Engagement: Contract – Outside IR35
Clearance required: SC + NPPV3 or CTC + NPPV2 (must already be held)

Role overview

We’re looking for an experienced SC-cleared Business Analyst with a strong background in data analysis and modelling, complemented by some service or process design experience. This role supports complex, data-led change initiatives within secure government environments, enabling evidence-based decisions and well-structured outcomes.

You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with technical, design, policy and delivery colleagues to translate ambiguity into insight and actionable recommendations.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver business analysis across complex problem statements
  • Develop analytical and quantitative models to support options analysis and decision making
  • Analyse and interpret data sets to surface insights, trends and risks
  • Elicit, document and validate business, user and operational requirements
  • Produce high-quality artefacts including:
    • Process maps and operating models
    • Cost, benefit and options analysis
    • Impact assessments and analytical summaries
  • Contribute to service or process design activities, working alongside designers where appropriate
  • Present clear, evidence-based findings to senior stakeholders
  • Operate effectively in secure, high-assurance environments

Required experience

  • Strong track record as a Business Analyst on complex programmes or services
  • Demonstrable experience in data analysis, modelling and structured problem solving
  • Ability to connect data insights to business and user outcomes
  • Some experience of service design, process design or user-centred approaches
  • Comfortable working in multidisciplinary and delivery-oriented teams
  • Experience in government or public sector environments (desirable)

  • Analytical modelling and decision support
  • Stakeholder engagement and requirements elicitation
  • Data interpretation and insight generation
  • Clear documentation and storytelling with data
  • Workshop facilitation and collaborative working

Nice to have

  • Experience working closely with service designers or UX teams
  • Familiarity with agile or hybrid delivery environments
  • Exposure to policing, justice, security or national infrastructure domains

Security clearance

Candidates must already hold:

  • SC + NPPV3, or
  • CTC + NPPV2
