Network Architect

Network Architect required for an established organisation based in Bristol.

The successful candidate will have experience working as a Network Architect / Engineer with hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet technologies. Expertise in MPLS, L2 VPN, SD-WAN, virtualization, and containerization solutions is also highly desirable.

As the Network Architect you will be responsible for designing the network architecture, deploying network aspects for a new operations centre, Fabric and Terminals across the UK including configuring networking equipment such as Edge Routers, L2/L3 Switches, and Firewalls at the Terminal. Collaborating with infrastructure and Cloud architects you will be essential in delivering a fully operational platform for cutting-edge research.

This assignment has been deemed outside of IR35.
Hybrid role – 2 days per week on site in Bristol.

Skills, experience and background required: –

• Experience designing and implementing large-scale Wide Area Networks to ensure high performance and scalability.
• In depth understanding of OSI model, switching and routing methods and standards.
• Experience as an architect of designing network solutions using Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet technologies.
• Expert knowledge in MPLS, L2 VPN, and SD-WAN concepts
• Experience working on Telecoms related projects including working with Solutions Architect’s and third party’s to finalise HLDs.
• Deep knowledge and experience in virtualization, network services, and virtual network functions to support advanced networking solutions.
• Familiarity with containerization solutions to support modern, scalable network architectures.
• Ability to create comprehensive design documents including high-level designs (HLD) and low-level designs (LLD).
