DV Cleared Senior Cloud Engineer

Location: Salisbury – Hybrid

Role Overview

To lead the day to day technical operations of the Windows Team. Reporting to the head of Operating Systems. Individuals have a direct influence on profitability either as managers or as experts in a particular field. The field can relate to a variety of areas such as knowledge of a particular industry, technology, product, profession or skills area such as sales, account management or purchasing. Individuals could be contributors with specialist expertise or responsibility for the management of others. Roles at this level will typically be responsible for the provision of advice on policy implementation through such activities as scenario planning or resource modelling to inform strategic choices in decision making. The consequences of decision making would be operationally focused within a strategic framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the team including mentoring in order to grow and develop individuals. Creating a structure of SME’s with client centric skills and future proofing our operations by continually enhancing our skills portfolio in line with the unified Digital strategy
• Project tasks under the guidance of the Project Manager, including: assisting with solution design, Estimating, high level and detailed design work where applicable, implementation.
• Aware of the relevant SLA structure and to respond, fix or escalate according to the limits set out within that structure.
• Write and maintain Operational and User procedures to ensure standards are met.
• Engaging in pre-sales activities to scope out potential solutions.
• Engage with Architects and Solutions Designers to validate potential options and make recommendations.
• Accurately assess effort and cost involved with implementation.
• Ensure that all tasks completed by the team are fully documented in accordance with the standards in place.
• Keep Project Management informed of progress in order to accurately assess time to complete tasks.

Must haves:

• VMware Automation using Aria and VMware Orchestrator
• Linux administration / scripting
• Ansible / Javascript / Powershell
• Experience as a developer working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Cloud experience (especially on prem) a plus.
