Senior Data Analyst – Finance / ERP
£550 pd via Umbrella

Leading business is looking to bring in a Data Migration Analyst to support the migration of data from legacy source systems to a new target ERP platform. The role will play a key part in ensuring that data is accurately analysed, mapped, transformed, and validated as part of a broader systems modernisation programme. Working across business and technical teams, you will help translate legacy data structures into target system requirements, ensuring data integrity, quality, and traceability throughout the end-to-end migration lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the migration of data from legacy source systems to a new target system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and business meaning is preserved
- Analyse complex data sets within legacy systems to understand structure, content, and usage, particularly where documentation is limited
- Interpret target system requirements and perform detailed source-to-target data mapping
- Define and validate data transformations, calculations, and derivations required to align legacy data to the target model
- Perform data profiling on source systems to identify data quality issues and support remediation activities
- Reconcile data extracted from legacy systems with data loaded into the target system to ensure successful migration outcomes
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party integration partners delivering ETL and migration solutions
- Interpret data models and entity relationship diagrams for both source and target systems
Skills & Experience
- An experienced Data Analyst with proven experience delivering legacy-to-target system data migrations
- Advanced Excel skills for complex data analysis, validation, and reconciliation
- Solid understanding of ETL processes and data transformation principles
- Experience analysing and reconciling complex data sets at an attribute level
- Ability to interpret data models, schemas, and ER diagrams
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to bridge business and technical discussions
- SQL skills, including the ability to:
- Write queries to extract data from legacy systems
- Analyse data structures and content to validate understanding where documentation is limited
Any experience working on large-scale finance system or ERP transformation programmes is highly desirable.
