SC Cleared Data Analyst – Central Government (Contract)
Duration: 3 Months (initial)
Rate: Up to £450 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Newcastle or Birmingham (hybrid/remote with occasional on-site)

We are seeking an SC Cleared Data Analyst to support a major UK Central Government department on an initial 3-month contract. This role is well suited to a data professional with strong analytical capability and proven experience working within government or regulated public sector environments, ideally aligned to GDS/GOV.UK standards.

The Role

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary digital team, providing data-driven insights to support decision-making, performance monitoring, and service improvement across key government services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysing complex datasets to generate actionable insights for stakeholders

  • Working with digital and delivery teams to support data-led service improvement

  • Developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau

  • Supporting data collection and implementation via Google Analytics (GA) and Google Tag Manager (GTM)

  • Querying and manipulating data using SQL and other data tools

  • Supporting operational and security monitoring using platforms such as Splunk

  • Ensuring data outputs align with GDS and GOV.UK standards

  • Communicating findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

About You

Essential experience:

  • Active SC Clearance

  • Proven experience working as a Data Analyst within Central Government or a similar public sector environment

  • Strong hands-on experience with GA, GTM, SQL, and Tableau

  • Experience using Splunk for monitoring or analysis

  • Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis

  • Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • Familiarity with GDS principles and GOV.UK standards
