Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer

Location: Feltham (Middlesex) OR Huntingdon (Cambridgeshire) – Hybrid working

Clearance Required: Must be eligible for or hold SC Clearance

Salary: Up to £70k DOE

Overview:

We are seeking a technically skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join a dynamic security operations team supporting vulnerability management, endpoint protection, and system hardening across a complex IT estate. The successful candidate will work with a range of industry-standard security tools and frameworks to strengthen cyber resilience and maintain compliance across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform regular vulnerability scanning and reporting using Nessus and SonarQube
• Support endpoint security through configuration and deployment of Ivanti
• Conduct compliance audits against CIS, STIG, and NIST standards
• Monitor and assess firewall rules and configurations for unauthorised access attempts
• Validate access controls to ensure proper enforcement of least privilege and secure authentication
• Collaborate with the wider cyber team to support incident response, patching, and change assessments

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Hands-on experience with:
• SonarQube
• Nessus
• Ivanti
• Firewalls (configuration, audit, or policy review)
• Access Control mechanisms and principles
• Good working knowledge of security compliance frameworks: CIS, STIG, and NIST
• Experience in a cyber security operations or engineering environment

Eligibility:

To be considered for the role, you must have active SC Clearance OR eligibility for clearance (UK Right to Work + Residence in the UK for the past 5 years).
