Location: York, London, East Anglia (50% on site)
Duration: 6 months initial
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Architect on a contract basis to join on of our biggest clients in their dynamic Hosting Platform team. This team provides top-tier cloud design services across various projects. As a Cloud Architect, you will design innovative cloud solutions for our customers, focusing on security, network, application modernisation, migration, and machine learning projects. Your primary responsibility will be within the Cloud Governance/TDA team to ensure design adequacy and alignment with our principles and standards. You will also have opportunities to lead the designs that shape our evolving strategic Cloud platform and provide consulting, training, and architectural support for application teams deploying to the Cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design affordable, sustainable cloud solutions to delight our customers.
- Ensure designs align with evolving strategic Cloud platforms.
- Serve as Technical Design Authority for applications migrating to the Cloud.
- Provide consultancy, best practice advice, and architectural support to internal teams.
- Produce and maintain guidance and content for the Cloud Knowledge Base.
- Stay updated on the latest Cloud technologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evolve Cloud platforms in line with industry best practices.
- Enable self-service and automation to design and accelerate speed to market.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Oversee cloud deliveries.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in AWS.
- Solution Architect qualification.
- Experience working with Wintel, Linux, Serverless and Kubernetes
- Experience creating architectural patterns.
- Hands-on experience building solutions in AWS.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a curiosity-driven mindset.
- Ability to articulate complex technical problems to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Understanding of modern application architectures and their dependencies on Cloud infrastructure.
- Experience in a leading architecture role within multi-disciplined projects.
- Proven ability to lead and manage stakeholder relationships.
