Agile Project Manager / Scrum Master

Our West Midlands based Banking client require an experienced Agile Project Manager with some experience of working as a Scrum Master to deliver a number of technical software and process changes to deliver an improved customer journey on a number of the client's customer facing systems.

Up to £530 per day - Please note the client will only engage contractors via an Umbrella Company.

This Agile Project Manager will be responsible for managing the delivery of a number of technical software and process changes via Agile sprints that will improve the customer journey and user experience for a number of the client's customer facing systems. These changes will be delivered for a number of systems that are used across multiple business units / departments, so strong internal stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

Although this role is not a full-time Scrum Master role, part of this role will involve leading a Scrum team for the client, so previous experience of working in a Scrum Master role is preferred.

The client have traditionally delivered change using Prince / Waterfall, so this person will also need to educate / coach business stakeholders on the fundamentals, core differences and value of utilising Agile over Waterfall for project and change delivery. With that in mind, it would be desirable for candidates to have experience of introducing Agile to a client, or using Agile in a client where it is not a matured delivery mechanism.


Experience required:

  • Strong previous Agile project management experience
  • Previous Financial Services experience, ideally Banking
  • Some previous experience of undertaking a Scrum Master role / posess Scrum Master certification
  • Previous experience of delivery both software and process change projects
  • Previous experience of delivering projects to improve customer journeys
  • Experience of using and / or introducing Agile in environments that have had no / little experience of using
  • Exceptional Stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to coach and educate in Agile


NB: This role will initially be remote due to the current Covid-19 guidelines, probably for the first 4-6 months. However, there will be an expectation that this role will require this person to work from their Birmingham office circa 2-3 days per week in the future.
