Role: PKI Engineer

Location: Basingstoke (Onsite)

Salary: Up to £55k DOE + £6k Car Allowance
Clearance: MOD DV or SC + eligibility for DV

Role details:

We’re partnering with a global consultancy who’ve been a key player in the UK’s ICT landscape for the last 50 years. They deliver highly secure network services into high profile Central Government and Defence customers. They are looking for a PKI Engineer to play a key role in implementing PKI technology for a MOD cryptography project.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience of delivering on-premise PKI
• Experience of delivery of high assurance PKI to support Microsoft or Linux platforms
• Experience in creation of policy documentation via interpretation of customer Certificate Policies i.e. CPS / Key Signing Ceremonies
• Experience owning documentation artefacts relating to work packages (HLD, LLD, Installation guides etc)

Eligibility:

To be considered for the role, you must have active MOD DV Clearance OR SC Clearance + eligibility for DV clearance (Sole UK National + Resident in the UK for the past 10 years).

PKI Integrator/Engineer – Perm – DV Clearable

• Type: Permanent
• Location: Basingstoke (5 days on-site)
• Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + £6k Car + Company Bonus + Clearance Bonus + Package
• Clearance: Must have or have the abilit to attain MOD DV Clearance
• Contingency: Sole British National

This is an opportunity to join of the organisations at the forefront of the UK Defence Sector, as they look to expand their PKI Engineering capability, joining an existing team working on a variety of complex solutions.

The PKI Integrator will be responsible for applying security best practices and industry standards derived from threat analysis to implement PKI technology according to Design requirements.

The position requires strong theoretical knowledge as well as industry experience in applying advanced cryptography schemes to secure complex IT infrastructure, customer-facing services, and sensitive customer and enterprise data.

Your transferable skills and experience:

• Experience of delivering on-premise PKI using technologies such as Keyfactor (EBJCA), Microsoft PKI and OpenSSL;
• Experience of delivery of high assurance PKI to support Microsoft and Linux platforms;
• Expertise in both mainstream encryption schemes and key exchange protocols as well as quantum-safe cryptography;
• Experience in Powershell and OpenSSL;
• Experience in creation of policy documentation via interpretation of customer Certificate Policies in relation to PKI usage i.e. CPS / Key Signing Ceremonies;
• Good interpersonal skills who is able to learn and adapt to work across both legacy and new technologies as part of a live system transitioned programme.
• Responsible for the delivery of new and ongoing change to work packages, in response to evolving user requirements.
• Creation and ownership of all related documentation artefacts relating to work packages including HLD, LLD, Installation guides.

Desirable – Experience across technologies such as:

• Familiarity with NIST post-quantum cryptography standardization & migration efforts;
• Familiarity with NIST Cryptographic Standards and Guidelines;
• Familiarity with IETF RFC standard and guidelines for PKI;
• Experience in the development and delivery of software using Agile Methodologies
• Experience of working in secure environments (preferred).
