Role: Automation Test Engineer
Location: Leeds or Manchester (1 day on-site per week)
Duration: 12 months
Pay: max £360 per day inside IR35

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and suites

  • Work closely with developers, analysts, and DevOps engineers to embed testing early in the delivery lifecycle

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and continuous quality practices

  • Perform non-functional testing, including performance, security, and accessibility

  • Support ongoing improvements to testing processes, tooling, and standards

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong hands-on experience in Java or JavaScript

  • Proven background in automation testing

  • Solid understanding of shift-left principles and working within CI/CD environments

  • Knowledge of non-functional testing practices such as performance, security, and accessibility testing

    Role:

    • Design and implement scalable, secure data-processing pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and other Azure services.
    • Manage and optimize data storage solutions, including Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure SQL Data Warehouse.
    • Develop and maintain data models and overall data architecture to enable advanced analytics and business-intelligence reporting.
    • Ensure data quality and consistency through robust cleaning, transformation, and integration processes.
    • Monitor, diagnose, and resolve data-related issues within the Azure environment to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

    Skills/experience:

    • Proven Data Engineering experience with proficient SQL skills
    • Experience of designing and implementing data solutions on Azure utilising Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database and Azure Synapse Analytics
    • Experience using Azure Data Lake
    • Experience developing pipelines, analytics platforms and / or data warehouses
    • Good understanding of DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, and version control (Git).
    • Proven experience supporting data pipelines and ETL processes in production.
    • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

        The is based on predominantly Microsoft Windows EUC technologies to assess vulnerability risk and application dependencies.

        Working in a governance role, the successful candidate will address vulnerabilities on endpoints, especially those caused by applications not owned by a specific dept, team or individual. Also, the need to engage with third parties where applications owned by external companies are a potential risk.

        A understanding of the detail of vulnerability remediation is also required e.g. Patching, Intune endpoint management.

        Part of the project will be to analyse vulnerability data to identify root causes and develop solutions.

        Knowledge and experience of security management tools highly beneficial e.g. Qualys, Defender.
