Senior Service Designer (GDS Experience)

We’re supporting a central government client seeking an experienced Senior Service Designer with strong GDS (Government Digital Service) experience to lead the design and delivery of complex, user-centred public services.

This role sits within a multidisciplinary digital team and will play a key part in shaping services from discovery through to live, ensuring alignment with GDS Service Standards and best practice across government.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for designing end-to-end services that meet user needs while balancing policy, operational, and technical constraints. Working closely with Product Managers, User Researchers, Content Designers, Interaction Designers, and Technical Architects, you’ll help define and improve services used at scale.

You will:

• Lead service design activity across Discovery, Alpha, Beta, and Live phases

• Create and iterate service blueprints and artefacts (service maps, user journeys, ecosystem maps)

• Champion user-centred design principles across senior stakeholders

• Support and collaborate with User Research to translate insight into actionable design decisions

• Identify pain points across complex systems and design practical, scalable improvements

• Ensure services meet GDS standards and are assessment-ready

• Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions with business and technical teams

• Contribute to design community practice and mentor junior designers where required

Essential Experience

• Proven experience working on government digital services

• Strong understanding of GDS Service Standards and assessment processes

• Demonstrable experience delivering in multidisciplinary agile teams

• Expertise in mapping complex services across multiple channels

• Confident stakeholder engagement at senior level

• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery

• Experience working within Inside IR35 contracts

Desirable

• Experience working with legacy transformation programmes

• Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive design standards

Data Acquisition Manager – Contract

We’re partnering with a financial services client who is delivering a new suite of Data Products into consumer systems as part of a broader Data & Insights transformation. To support this, they are strengthening their Data Acquisition capability and require an experienced contractor to supplement BAU activity and manage critical third-party data relationships.

This is not a hands-on engineering role. Instead, it sits at the intersection of commercial, governance and data strategy – ideal for someone who understands how data flows through enterprise environments and can confidently manage suppliers and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and developing relationships with third-party data providers
• Negotiating and reviewing data licensing agreements to ensure favourable commercial and operational terms
• Supporting the execution of the external data sourcing strategy aligned to business and regulatory requirements
• Understanding how external data feeds into internal pipelines and downstream consumer systems
• Ensuring all externally sourced data aligns with the organisation’s Data Governance framework
• Producing and maintaining clear technical and operational documentation
• Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders, legal, governance and technical teams

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience managing third-party data vendors and supplier relationships
• Strong understanding of data flows and pipelines (without needing to build them)

We’re supporting a secure, mission-critical programme seeking a hands-on Senior Database Engineer to take ownership of a 1TB+ SQL Server estate.

This is a delivery-focused engineering role – not documentation or governance. You’ll build on existing analysis to validate findings, map database structures to application functionality, and implement safe, incremental improvements to performance, resilience, and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Rationalise and optimise a large SQL Server database

• Identify redundant/high-risk data structures

• Implement data retention and archival strategies

• Improve performance (indexing, partitioning, query tuning)

• Strengthen HA, resilience, and database security

• Safely promote schema changes through controlled release processes

Required Experience

• Deep hands-on Microsoft SQL Server expertise

• Experience with large enterprise databases (100s GB-TB scale)

• Supporting large .NET Framework applications
