Role Description:

  • 14+ years of experience as an Environment Manager with a strong understanding of SDLC, DevOps, and cloud-based environments, with proven expertise in environment management for large-scale programmes
  • Define, implement, and govern the environment and release strategy for the programme, ensuring all environments are fit-for-purpose, compliant, and aligned with organisational standards to support successful delivery
  • Establish governance processes for the full environment lifecycle management; maintain a central repository for governance documentation, tooling standards, branching strategies, and naming conventions
  • Manage environment calendars and readiness across all workstreams, proactively maintaining risk logs and resolving environment conflicts to ensure seamless coordination
  • Gate releases to ensure compliance with SDLC, security, and resilience standards; drive automation in release and test processes to continuously improve efficiency and reliability
  • Implement access control models, FinOps guidance, and security governance templates; monitor and mitigate environment-related risks to maintain compliance and operational integrity
  • Partner with cloud architects, infrastructure engineers, and delivery leads; secure stakeholder buy-in for standards and processes through excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Define and enforce best practices across release management, tooling, and environment standards to ensure consistency, repeatability, and quality across the programme

    Our client, a leading organisation based in Bristol, is looking to hire a Cloud Architect with an Infrastructure Architect background.

    Experience of AWS Cloud Security and AWS Cloud networking would be highly beneficial.

    The primary purpose of the role is to own and develop the technical architecture for our client’s infrastructure.

    Responsible for leading, developing and optimising infrastructure platforms to support our client’s digital strategy. The successful candidate will focus on ensuring the technical architecture supports security, scalability, reliability and cost effectiveness across platforms.

    The role holder will have technical authority for infrastructure architecture topics and will collaborate with the wider digital technology, engineering and architecture teams.

    General responsibilities: –

    • Mature infrastructure technical architecture, defining architectural standards and best practices for deployment and management
    • Develop and maintain reference architecture assets, including roadmaps, blueprints.
    • Lead architectural designs for secure and scalable infrastructure ensuring resilience and cost efficiency.
    • Collaborate with security, compliance, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with existing and future infrastructure platforms
    • Develop and mature robust technical governance for infrastructure and cloud.
    • Advise on infrastructure topics, migration strategies and platform solutions, cloud native and hybrid.
    • Support operational and engineering colleagues through identifying opportunities to simplify legacy systems, automate processes, and improve security and performance using cloud-native.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks, including ISO 27001, PCI DSS.
    • Support infrastructure capabilities internally through the mentoring of technical teams such as Digital Operations and Engineering, on design best practices, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code approaches

    Skills and experience required: –

    • In-depth infrastructure expertise across security, networking, databases and storage.
    • Experience with Windows
    • Relevant exposure to leading cloud providers, in particular AWS.
    • Virtualisation, containerisation, orchestration and serverless architectures
    • Evidence of successfully simplifying legacy infrastructure and migrating to hybrid and cloud-native platforms
    • Awareness and use of architectural frameworks

      This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for ensuring robust integration between platforms within a complex multi-vendor delivery environment supporting a large workforce.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Lead the end-to-end integration between the workforce management platform and Oracle Fusion.

      • Provide technical assurance and oversight of APIs, data mapping, integration architecture and workflows.

      • Ensure Oracle Fusion remains the master source of workforce data.

      • Manage and challenge delivery from system integrators and solution vendors.

      • Identify and resolve integration risks, dependencies and data issues.
