Sanderson sponsor the South Coast Tech Awards!

The newly established awards will take place in Southampton on the 5th December, celebrating the best of Solent tech.

We are very excited to announce that Sanderson will be a category sponsor in the South Coast Tech Awards! The awards are a newly founded ceremony for 2019 which will take place at the Hilton at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton on the 5th December.

The SCTAs’ aim is to celebrate the best of tech that the Solent area has to offer; innovative start-ups, newly invented technologies such as AI, telecoms and more. The awards are the latest in the roster of the Business Magazine, who already host events across numerous vertical markets in the Thames Valley and Solent areas.

At the time of writing, three categories have been announced; Innovative Tech Company, Tech Employer of the Year and Tech Start-up. More categories will be announced in the coming weeks.

Sanderson will be sponsoring the Tech Employer of the Year category, whose purpose is to award the outstanding tech employers in the region who have proven that their businesses are great places to work as well as where employees are valued and empowered.

Hannah Waddington, regional manager of the Sanderson Southampton, has said:

“We are really excited to be sponsoring the ‘Tech Employer of the Year’ at the first ever South Coast Tech Awards. We have seen the South Coast technology market grow exponentially in the last 12-18 months, both with the growth of new businesses and start-ups moving to the area and some of the more established employers ramping up their technology activity.

The competition for technical talent is rife and so the need for businesses to set themselves apart in order to attract ‘the best’ is becoming increasingly important; flexible working, training & development, employee engagement, and ultimately excellent leadership are very important factors. We are really looking forward to getting to know the nominees and attending, what I am sure will be, an excellent evening.”

The founding of the awards is unsurprising as the Southampton area has become a site of continued growth for many sectors, particularly for the tech and digital sectors. In 2018, Southampton was in the top 3 cities in the PwC’s Good Growth for Cities index and it has also been reported that the city’s digital tech business turnover has increased 41% between 2014 and 2017, now up to £2.1bn.

Entries for the event will close on the 31st July.
