BlueConf, the first of its kind in the region, held industry discussions and talks for local software developers and enthusiasts.

Cardiff is one of the UK’s newest budding tech communities; it features within the top 20 invested tech cities in the UK and also adds £8 billion a year to the Welsh economy. It’s not surprising then that there’s been an increase of conferences and meetups in Wales to accompany this growth.
BlueConf is one such event that has been buoyed by this growth in the Welsh economy. The first full-stack dev conference in the region, it’s the product of efforts by meetup groups Cardiff-JS and PHP South Wales and wanted to bring together developers together from different areas of tech and development. Many attendees of the event were local developers and enthusiasts, demonstrating the need for a community-based event such as this.
The event was run as not-for-profit in aid of CodeClub, a global network of free coding clubs for 9-13 year olds; BlueConf have managed to raise nearly £1200 for them.
Sanderson had the opportunity to be Gold Sponsors of the event and some of our Welsh staff members from our Cardiff-based office attended on the day, Friday 7th June:
“It was a fantastic day meeting talented individuals and future prospects for South Wales. We also had the opportunity to meet with some of South Wales’ biggest organisations and get an insight into the exciting projects that they have upcoming.
With excellent speakers from across a variety of backgrounds, it was so nice to see a community of people come together for a fantastic cause. Sanderson look forward to seeing BlueConf grow over the next couple of years and working with them in the future.”
